3 Idiots

3 Idiots - Voted 8.9/10 at IMdb,

Sometimes things in life happen in a pattern. Sometimes you wonder, is it a sign? Its happened to us definitely, its whether we notice it or just ignore it. How many times in life have you been wondering about something or looking for a solution and then it just literally comes knocking to the door. How many times have you thought of a friend and 'bump' into them.

It's just happened to me twice in this short fortnight. First a friend from Matriculation UKM. I find out probably he's the only matrix batch that's practicing in Penang. So we buzz each other thru facebook thanks to another friend's re-intro. Then we find out we stay in the same 'Taman' or vicinity. And just in 24hours, I bump into him as the doctor locum in the clinic!

Well it's happened again; Steve Jobs' speech at Stanford which I blogged about in my previous entry. His first point "1. Do what you love to do. If you haven't found it yet, keep on looking. You will stumble upon it sooner or later.
Whether you grab it, take the risk of falling, is your own call."

And now watching 3 Idiots dejavu again. One of the many good messages from the movie based on students studying in a Top Notch Engineering School in India (somehow called Imperial College IC instead of IIT) where Amir Khan and his 2 other idiot friends embark on a journey whehre Amir Khan helps them realize "Let Your Passion Be you Profession". So after the movie I start wondering, is my profession my passion? In ways yes, I do enjoy going to work, MBWA, working with people , things, solving issues and challenges and growing.

Going back to the movie, first of all it was nice to see the cinema half full. It's hard to get hindi movies at Cinema's in Penang. So those whom really do like to see Hindi Movies, do go to the movies to increase the demand.

The movie: I'd rate better then average Hollywood movies. It had all the elements of a good movie (in my case) Good Humour, great punch lines (a 9.5 over 10 for this), some very teary moments (yes your eyes will go wet more then once probably), there's a nice love story that's not over-done, great moral and advice in it, and yes the trademark songs. Songs were quite catchy, and I only found on song out of place, the other songs seemed nicely into the movie.

A must watch. You'll walk away smilling, and thinking... Enjoy. Check out the showings at http://www.cinema.com.my/

Steve Jobs at Stanford

Steve Jobs - 3 Great Points in Life

Sometimes you come across things in life, which are life changing. Steve Jobs has changed many lives. Not only by his products, but by his own life story, his survival, and positive outlook into life.

Watch the video first. Then read on.

1. Do what you love to do. If you haven't found it yet, keep on looking. You will stumble upon it sooner or later.
Whether you grab it, take the risk of falling, is your own call.

2.Take life as if you were going to die soon.
This is a very common saying, which Steve mentions he has heard from somewhere else. The result,
I think Steve has said it best. You make best of you can and have, and the 'shyness' is no more.
Look yourself in the mirror every morning, and ask yourself if you like what you're doing and whether you like it.

3. Stay Hungry Stay Foolish. He doesn't elaborate much on this, but from what I would tell myself,
Stay Hungry - Never be content. Never give up. There is also more in life. Be happy with what you want, but still stay hungry.
Stay Foolish - Never be scared to try something new, to ask, to do your best. You might look foolish, but well I guess so did Steve Jobs at times.

Thanks to Jarren and my KM lecturer for sharing this. www.ted.com is a great website which has so many
great videos. You can check out my commentary on Pranav Mistry on Sixth Sense Technology.

One of the most touching and invigorating videos I have come across.
